Carvoeiro

Carvoeiro is a picturesque fishing village which lies in some of the most unspoilt coastline on the Algarve. In summer it is a lively resort, but tight regulations have restricted development . Although small it has fine restaurants and bars, boutiques, banks, a chemist and all the shops essential for daily needs. As well as the perfect sandy beach of Carvoeiro itself there are many other scenic beaches within easy reach of the bungalow, such as Centianes, Benegil and Marinha.

Nearest Restaurant and bar - end of the lane less than 5 minutes walk. A taxi service also operates from here.

Nearest Supermarket - 10/15 minutes walk. There is also a Intermarche Hypermarket 5 minutes drive away.

Golf courses - 10 minutes walk, Par 3 with very reasonable prices. Larger 18 hole course is only 10 minutes away by car.

Centianes Beach - 15 minutes walk. Carvoeiro - 25 minutes walk.

All these facilities are only 5 minutes away by car or taxi, costing about 2 pounds {GBP} (approx 3 US Dollars) to Carvoeiro. Car hire is very reasonable, either in Carvoeiro or from your local travel agent, who can arrange a car for collection at Faro airport, approximately 55 kms away.

A short car trip will take you to the water slide park at Lagoa, the historic town and castle at Silves, two further golf courses, good water sporting facilities and boat trips along the magnificent coastline. There are interesting tourist and gypsy markets held every week in at least one of the local towns.

The Monchique mountains, the river at Alte and the Barragem de Arade make interesting and scenic day excursions.
